Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Vintry ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you use our website or buy through us. Vintry is operated by Uwa Osagie, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described below. For anything privacy-related, contact us at info@vintry.shop.
What we collect
- Order and contact details: your name, email, delivery address and what you bought.
- Payment information, handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through the site.
- Technical and usage data: basic information your browser provides, and (only if you accept) anonymous analytics about how the site is used.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To take payment and fulfil your order, including arranging delivery (basis: performance of our contract with you).
- To answer your questions and provide customer service (basis: our legitimate interest in running the shop well).
- To send marketing emails, only if you have opted in (basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To understand what is popular through optional analytics (basis: your consent via our cookie banner).
- To meet our legal and tax obligations (basis: legal obligation).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the partners that make an order happen:
- The shop whose item you bought, so the sale can be recorded and the piece fulfilled.
- Stripe, to process your payment securely.
- Royal Mail or another courier, to deliver your order.
- Supabase, which hosts our database and processes data on our behalf.
- An analytics provider, only if you accept optional cookies.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal and tax requirements (generally up to six years). We delete or anonymise data we no longer need.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and request a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@vintry.shop.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. The detail, and how to change your choice, is in our Cookie Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
