Retrove Seller Terms
This agreement is between Retrove, a marketplace operated by Uwa Osagie, a sole trader in the United Kingdom (contact info@retroveclothing.com), and your shop ("you"). It applies from the moment you are approved to sell on Retrove.
What Retrove does
We give your shop a curated online shopfront, take payment from buyers, generate postage, and market the edit. Your stock stays your stock and stays on your rail until it sells, in store or online. We do not buy your stock from you, and we do not take title to it.
Commission and payouts
- Retrove charges a flat 10% commission on the sale price of each item sold through the platform, the same rate for every shop. It is shown in your dashboard. You keep the remainder.
- Payments are collected from buyers through Stripe. You connect your own Stripe account once during onboarding, and your share is paid out directly to it.
- Payout is released 14 days after an item is delivered, which covers the buyer's returns window. Retrove does not hold your money beyond the time needed to process the sale.
- You are responsible for your own tax and for any VAT that applies to your sales.
Currencies and selling abroad
- You list, sell and are paid in your shop's own currency. Buyers elsewhere may pay in theirs; Retrove carries the conversion and it never changes what you receive.
- International orders work like domestic ones on your side: same queue, same label flow. Retrove prepares the customs declaration, sends parcels duties-unpaid, and the buyer settles any import charges on arrival. Returns from abroad are arranged with Retrove directly.
Your stock and listings
- You list only genuine items you own or are authorised to sell, described honestly, with notable flaws disclosed.
- Listings go live on Retrove as you add them. You keep your online and in-store stock in sync so a piece is not sold twice.
- If a piece sells in store at the same moment it is bought online, tell us promptly so we can cancel and refund the online order.
Photos and content
You confirm you own or are licensed to use the photos and text you upload. You grant Retrove a non-exclusive licence to display, resize and use that content to list and market your stock across Retrove and its channels, for as long as you sell with us. You can ask us to remove it when you leave.
Retrove may process your listing photos to present them consistently, for example lifting a garment from its background for grid tiles. Product pages always show your original photo untouched.
Returns and refunds
Buyers have a 14-day right to return, handled through Retrove. If a delivered item is returned in acceptable condition, the buyer is refunded. If your payout for that item has already been released, the corresponding amount (including the commission) is reversed or recovered from your connected account. We will always show you the detail of any adjustment.
Disputes
- If you decline a return inside the buyer's window, the buyer can ask Retrove to review it. The payout for that item stays held while the review is open.
- Retrove decides these reviews and leans towards the buyer where the evidence is level, because the marketplace's trust is what sells your next piece. The decision is final, and a refund found against you is recovered as set out under returns.
Postage, loss, theft and damage
- When you fulfil an order using postage generated by Retrove, send it by the method shown, pack it properly, and keep your proof of postage. Risk in the item passes to the buyer on delivery.
- If a parcel sent on Retrove postage is lost or damaged in transit, we will pursue the carrier's compensation and pass the recovered amount through, up to the item's sale value, provided you packed it adequately and can show proof of postage. Carrier limits and exclusions apply.
- If you choose to post by a method other than the one Retrove provides, the risk and any loss in transit are yours.
- Loss, theft or damage to a piece while it is in your possession, before dispatch, is your responsibility.
Authenticity and prohibited items
Everything you sell must be genuine pre-owned or vintage stock. No counterfeits, no stolen goods, and nothing unlawful to sell. We rely on the trust we place in vetted shops, and on buyer reports, to keep the edit clean.
Resale royalty
When a piece you sold is later re-sold by its owner on Retrove, your shop automatically receives 3% of that resale price, every time it changes hands on the platform. Nothing to set up; it appears in your payouts like any other line.
The Runway, prizes and vouchers
- Retrove may host styling runs at your shop in the app. Your live stock appears as styling material; this costs you nothing and pieces remain purchasable as normal.
- Where a run offers one of your pieces as its prize, that piece is reserved and hidden from sale for the run. If the run cancels it returns to your rail. When a winner claims it, an order appears in your queue: the winner pays nothing, and Retrove pays you your normal share of the piece's listed price once it ships. Prize orders have no returns window.
- Where a run offers a discount voucher, the discount is funded entirely from Retrove's commission. Your payout on a voucher sale is the same as on any sale.
Buyer messages
Buyers can message you about their orders from their order page; you answer from your fulfilment page. Threads only exist where an order does. Aim to reply within a working day; we nudge whichever side has left a message waiting.
Reviews
Buyers can review your shop once their order is delivered or collected, one review per order, shown on your storefront with its average. Only real buyers of real orders can review; we do not edit or remove reviews for being unflattering, only for abuse.
Standards and curation
Retrove is curated. We may decline, remove or hide a listing, or pause or end your shop, if standards, these terms, or the law are not met. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
Suspension and ending the agreement
Either of us can end this agreement with reasonable notice. You can ask us to remove your shop at any time. Orders already placed must still be fulfilled, and payouts and any refunds already in flight are settled in the normal way. We may suspend a shop immediately where there is a serious or legal concern.
Liability
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law. Beyond that, neither side is liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, and Retrove's total liability to you in connection with a sale is limited to the commission Retrove earned on it. Your buyers' statutory rights are unaffected.
Data
Each of us handles personal data in line with UK data protection law. Retrove processes buyer and order data to run the marketplace; you receive only what you need to fulfil and support an order, and you use it only for that.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will tell you about material changes, and continuing to sell with us after a change means you accept the new version. Each version is dated and recorded against your shop when you accept it.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction.
